위키리크스(www.wikileaks.org)는 정부나 기업 등의 비윤리적 행위와 관련된 비밀 문서를 공개하는 인터넷사이트로 세계적인 명성을 얻고 있습니다.
위키리크스는 정부와 기업, 단체의 불법·비리 등 비윤리적 행위를 알린다는 목적으로 2006년 12월 아이슬란드의 수도 레이캬비크에서 설립됐습니다. 설립자는 언론의 자유와 검열 반대를 주장해 온 줄리언 어샌지(Julian Paul Assange)입니다.
위키리크스는 아프리카 연안에서의 유독물질 투기 관련 메모, 영국 극우파 정당(BNP) 당원 명부, 쿠바 관타나모 미국 해군기지 수용소의 운영 세칙, 스위스은행 관련 문건 등을 공개하고, 사이언톨로지의 실태와 케냐 정부의 부패 등을 고발해 큰 파문을 일으켰습니다.

WikiLeaks (www.wikileaks.org) is gaining worldwide fame as an Internet site that releases secret documents related to unethical practices such as governments and businesses.
WikiLeaks was established in December 2006 in Reykjavik, Iceland's capital, with the aim of informing the government, businesses, and organizations of unethical activities such as illegal and corruption. The founder is Julian Paul Assange, who has advocated freedom of speech and opposition to censorship.
WikiLeaks has caused a stir by disclosing notes on toxic speculation off the African coast, a list of members of the British far-right party (BNP), operating rules of the U.S. Naval Base in Guantanamo, Cuba, and documents related to the Swiss bank, and accusing the Kenyan government of corruption.
