이희범 회장은 1949년 경상북도 안동군에서 태어났다. 서울대학교 사범대학 부설고등학교, 서울대학교 공과대학 전자공학과, 서울대학교 행정대학원, 미국 조지 워싱턴 대학교 대학원 경영학 석사, 경희대학교 대학원 경영학 박사 과정을 졸업하였다. 1972년 제12회 행정고시에 합격하여 상공부(현 산업통상자원부)에서 공무원으로 근무하였다. 2003년 12월부터 2006년 2월까지 산업자원부장관을 지냈다.이후 2018 평창 동계올림픽 조직위원장을 지냈으며, 2026 밀라노·코르티나담페초 동계올림픽 개최지 평가위원회 관계자 대표로 임명되기도 하였다. 

산업자원부 장관, 한국무역협회 회장 등의 역할을 수행하며 쌓은 경험을 바탕으로 2023년 2월 부영그룹의 회장으로 취임하면서 부동산과 건설업계에 새로운 경영 전략을 도입하여 큰 성공을 거두었다. 

He was born in Andong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do in 1949. He graduated from Seoul National University College of Education affiliated high school, Seoul National University College of Engineering, Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Administration, George Washington University Graduate School of Business, and Kyung Hee University Graduate School of Business. In 1972, he passed the 12th Administrative Examination and worked as a public official at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (currently the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy). He served as Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy from December 2003 to February 2006. Since then, he has served as the head of the organizing committee for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and has been appointed as a representative of the evaluation committee of the venue of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano and Cortinadampecho.

Upon assuming the role of Chairman of Booyoung Group in February 2023, Lee Hee-beom applied his extensive experience from previous positions, including Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Energy and Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, to introduce innovative management strategies in the real estate and construction industries.
